3 Things You Didn’t Know About Ghostbusters

Mere minutes after the first official release of the new Ghostbusters movie, the internet was swarmed with complaints of how bad the new Ghostbusters trailer looks, cries of childhood’s being raped, and 1001 reasons how the “original” is better.  However, don’t jump on that band wagon too quickly, as here are three interesting facts you may of not known about the “Original” Ghostbusters:1. The name was clearly taken from the 1975 TV Series, “The Ghost Busters,” a live-action children’s situation comedy that ran in 1975, about a team of bumbling detectives who would investigate ghostly occurrences.2. The movie shares the premise of professional “exterminators” on a paranormal mission with the slapstick comedy Spook Busters (1946)3. The phrase, “I aint scared of no ghosts” was taken directly from the 1937 Disney cartoon, “Lonesome Ghosts.” Don’t get me wrong, as a child of the 80s, I absolutely loved Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters, but I’m excited to see how this new version takes inspiration by the movie before it, just like the 80’s movie improved on the concepts before it. For more talk on Ghostbusters, X-Files, Gaurdians of the Galaxy and more, give a listen to Geek Versus Week.
