Star Wars Episode VIII has been delayed

Looks like I’m now free on May 26th of 2017!  Any one doing anything on that day?  It seems the latest installment of Star Wars has been delayed.  In the official press release Lucasfilm explained:

Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally scheduled for release on May 26, 2017, will now debut on December 15, 2017. The move follows the extraordinary success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was the first Star Wars movie to premiere in December.

I can’t really say that I blame them.  If I released a movie in December, and it made a gazillion dollars (box office numbers are approximated), I would release every movie after that around the same time.  I’m actually a fan of the move, as it will establish “Star Wars” as a holiday tradition for the near future, and give them more time to perfect it.

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” — written and directed by Rian Johnson — is currently in pre-production and begins principal photography in London next month.

Would you rather it sooner and rushed, or later and fine-tuned?
